Used Forklift Parts
Used Parts for Forklift - Inevitably, lift truck components will eventually wear out and need replacing. The alternative of obtaining new parts could become expensive so another idea is to buy used parts. This could save much cash in the long run. It is a great idea to buy used lift truck components which have been remanufactured. These parts would guarantee that you are getting components which would work for a long time and be productive.
Worn or broken parts that are remanufactured are a less expensive answer as opposed to rebuilding. With rebuilding parts, just the parts that are worn out or broken get replaced, which means that other wearable parts could break down soon after acquisition.
Remanufacturing however offers the best guarantee for second-hand parts. Reproduced components are taken apart and cleaned and then all wearable pieces are replaced. All wearable components are replaced regardless of age or wear which is one more reason why reproduced parts in general perform so much better. Any part within the part is brand new and this offers far longer life to the used part. Depending on the forklift parts which are being redone, the cleaning process and the whole remanufacturing process would differ.
After complete disassembly, the engines are oven cleaned. Different parts of the engine such as pistons, spark plugs, rings, filters, valves, and valve springs could be replaced during the remanufacture process. The engines are hot tested after reassembly to ensure that there are no oil pressure problems, no leaks, noises or any vacuum.
Transmissions are another thing that is oven cleaned after being disassembled. The transmission is then washed. A complete inspection is performed to check for any cracks. Bearings, bushings and seals are all replaced. Normally, the replacement parts used on transmission parts meet OEM specifications.
Certain lift truck components like for example torque converters, the alternator, the water pump, the starter and steer axles could be quite serviceable after worn components are replaced. The electronic control in the electric forklift is maintained by the control card. This card can also be remanufactured with replacing all aged and worn out parts. Unlike other lift truck components the control card can only have the worn and aged components replaced.
Components that are remanufactured have to be thoroughly checked upon reassembly to ensure they are in good condition prior to being sold. When obtaining these parts, it is a good idea to make certain that they have undergone all of the proper testing and inspections. On certain bigger components like engines, transmissions and steer axles, OEM specification replacement parts should be used.
The lift truck dealer can guarantee that the parts they have remanufactured meet the OEM specifications. This will also guarantee the components meet industry standards. Many details go into remanufacturing second-hand components. This attention to detail provides more serviceability out of reproduced components compared to the parts that were only rebuilt.
